IPELAN is an educational application intended for primary-school children (Levels 1 to 6, that is pupils approximately 6 to 11 years old). It is made available to pupils by their school, with the prior consent of parents or legal guardians collected as part of school enrolment.
We comply with the requirements of the application distribution platforms (Google Play and Apple App Store) concerning applications intended for children.
The application stores locally on the child's device, in its private storage space:
This learning data remains on the device unless it is enrolled in a class for synchronisation (see section 3.3).
The school may offer, with the agreement of the parents, to enrol the pupil's device by entering a class code provided by the teacher. When enrolment is activated, the following data is transmitted:
Authorised school staff may link the alias to a private record containing the pupil's first and last names and the parent or guardian's telephone number and email address. This information is stored separately and is not returned in the child's profile. The data is pseudonymised, not anonymous. The class code is for enrolment, not for recovering a profile on another device. Each installation has one pupil profile and must not be shared between children.
In the event of a serious technical error (a crash), a diagnostic log is transmitted automatically to the server. This log contains technical information about the error (exception type, call trace), the device model and the version of the operating system. It contains no personally identifiable data nor any content created by the user.
The data collected is used exclusively to:
No data is used for advertising, commercial or profiling purposes.
The processing of the data rests on:
In accordance with the requirements applicable to applications intended for children, no processing of children's data is carried out without parental agreement having first been obtained through the school institution.
The data transmitted to the server is hosted on a secure cloud infrastructure. Communications between the application and the server are encrypted. Access to the data is strictly controlled and limited to authorised persons only. Device identifiers are pseudonymous tokens; only authorised staff may link them to a school identity record (section 3.3). No third-party subcontractor has access to the data for purposes other than the provision of the technical infrastructure.
As a parent or legal guardian, you have the following rights concerning the data associated with your child's device:
These rights are exercised first of all with the school institution, which manages enrolment. For direct requests: [email protected].
IPELAN reserves the right to amend this policy in order to keep it up to date with developments in the application or the regulatory framework. Any substantial change will be notified through the application and the school will be informed. The version date at the top of this document indicates the version in force.
